SUMMER FAYRE

Saturday 27th June 12:00-14:30

How can you help?

We are delighted to be hosting a Summer Fayre on the 27th June.

As usual, the Fayre will feature performances by the children, showcasing drumming and ukelele plus a chance to see the excellent KS2 choir in action. This is in addition to a bouncy castle, BBQ and the fun stalls and games you know and love!

We will be looking for help in setting up, running a stall and helping to tidy up once the Fayre has finished. We also need plenty of donations to help the event take place.

The more volunteers we have, the less time people need to help, and the more time everyone has to spend with their children enjoying the event itself. Likewise, the more donations we have, the more money we can raise to support our school.

Here are some of the ways you can help our Fayre be a huge success.

Working on a stall

We’ll be featuring many of the stalls you know and love from fayres past but we cannot do it without your support.  You can volunteer for a 30 minute slot during the event, help set up on the Friday afternoon/Saturday morning or help clear up after the fayre closes - it makes a huge difference.
If you’d like to help but feel unsure, please don’t worry, it’s a great way to make new friends in the school community - just let your class rep know!

Each stall will open from 12pm and close at 2.30pm. They are run by two people at a time (more are needed for the refreshments) and we look to fill hourly slots. However, if you are happy to commit more time or can only manage half an hour, please still get in touch. If you would prefer to work alongside someone, or on a particular stall, please tell your Friends Rep or specify that in your message. Otherwise you will be allocated to a stall where help is required.

The work on the stall will generally involve taking tokens from the children, explaining how to play the game and awarding prizes. Each token is worth 50p and you just need to bundle the tokens into piles of ten and place in the pot provided.

We could really do with as many volunteers as possible. So, please talk to your Friends Rep or message us using the button below.

Helping to set up and tidy up

If you can't help out on a stall, maybe you could help us before or after? The Fayre will run from 12pm - 2.30pm, however we will need help setting up and tidying up, once the Fayre has finished. No special skills are required, just a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

Setting up

Friday 26th June 3.30pm

After school, we will need help getting out equipment, clearing space in the hall, setting up tables, and going through each of the stalls, ensuring we have all the equipment and signage needed.

We aim to get into the hall from 3.30pm and to leave by 5pm. We are able to have some children in the hall at the same time, but ask that you keep an eye on them.

Saturday 27th June 10am

From 10am, we will be at the school setting up. We will need help setting up the stalls, arranging any signage, and decorating the hall and playground. It is pretty much all hands on deck and any help at all would be gratefully received.

Tidying up

Saturday 27th June 2.30pm

When the Fayre closes, we need to return the school to its previous state. We will need help washing up, tidying up, putting down stalls and returning equipment. It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it, so any help would be much appreciated.

Make a donation

If you can't donate your time, we could do with as many donations as possible.

Toy Tombola

Donations of new or good quality toys are vital to the success of one of the most popular stalls. In previous years we could count on local toy companies to help with donations but these are becoming harder to secure so your generosity will be very gratefully received!

Adult Tombola

Another extremely popular stall is the adult tombola - to support this, the school have very kindly agreed again that we can hold a mufti day on Thursday 25th June. To take part, please donate a bottle or £2 per child.

Raffle Prizes

Once again, we will be looking to have some amazing prizes on offer for this year’s raffle. If you can donate a prize or know a local business who would be willing to do so, please let us know. We will happily promote their business in our promotional materials before and during the fayre.

Equipment

With any event we run, we look to keep our costs to a minimum, so as much profit as possible goes back to the school. We need things such as catering equipment, table covers, decorations and outdoor covers, such as marquees. If you are able to donate any items you think might be useful, or even loan us equipment for this event, please do get in touch.

Come along and have fun

Of course, even if you can't help, please come along on the day and have some fun. And if you can invite some friends and family along too, that would be even better!
